Summer's cut short

No.. this is not about the weather.

On Bank holiday monday, dad and grandpa were making plans for an outing when Harsh had a febrile convulsion. Mom called in emergency services and Harsh was taken to the hospital for further checkup. Everyone was really shaken up, especially Yash. He did calm down after the kind doctor took time to explain to him that it is not uncommon for children so young to get a convulsion.

As this was a first time incident for Harsh, the hospital kept him under observation for a night. Despite the presence of doctors, he had a fit 2nd time around in the afternoon. It seems he had sore throat and that was the cause of his fever.

Its really hard watching someone going through it. Urvi aunty was in tears when it happened both times.

I was going through a hard time too. Dad had to stay at home because of me - I was having a bout of diarrhea and it wasnt much fun either.

They were discharged the next day.Harsh was clinging very much to Urvi aunty for the next few days and it became obvious that he was suffering. Paresh uncle was very anxious back in India and ensured that Dad brought the return flight date for Urvi aunty forward. Dad too was going to NY and HK in the week after and hence, he did not resist much. It was more important for him to see his nephew well and fit again. Both had grown quite attached to each other in their short stay here.

Luckily, the day before they left, Harsh was back to his normal self to everyone's relief.

Soon Sunday was upon us and it was time to head to airport. Everyone was teary eyed - now that they had known me better, I am sure they would miss me to no end. And I will miss them too.... until the next time around.

Bye bye Harsh, Yash, Urvi Aunty and Grandpa. See ya in October
