A really long weekend

Dad left for Hong Kong on Friday evening, leaving Mum & me to spend the long weekend on our own. The weekend began with the ubiquitious shopping trip to our local town centre where mom ended up buying little apart from the week's grocery. As always, I was happy to be out and about & enjoyed cooing and babbling to anyone who as much as looked at me. Mom thinks I'm gonna be a big chatterbox when I grow up.

We were holed up inside the house all of Sunday thanks to the awful weather & despite all of Mom's efforts at keeping me amused, I felt really restless - I kept pointing towards the garden hoping Mom would take me outside, but she just wouldn't take a hint. I really missed Dad!

During the course of the day, I realized Mom was missing him too & now it was my turn to amuse her. Why do they say women are hard to please? It didn't take me much to bring a smile to Mom's face....

On Monday morning, my friend Aarav arrived with his parents (Deepak uncle & Rimple aunty) & picked us up for another(!) shopping trip - this time to the big malls at Guildford. We reached Guilford just in time for lunch & after a nice hearty meal (I had Roast vegetable lasagne & orange juice) we hit the shops. Mom took me to a very nice shop where I got to see a lot of colourful paintings. As always she took a long time browsing & Aarav sort of lost his patience. Rimple aunty had to take off with him & leaving Mom & me at the Art shop. We bought a couple of prints to put up at our house & then met up with the rest of the gang. From the town centre we went off to another big mall where Aarav's Mom & Dad bought a sofa for their new house. Aarav and I can't wait to get our hands on it!

Got back home for dinner,I dropped off to sleep right away as I was quite tired - I didn't even realize when Aarav, Rimple aunty & Deepak uncle left.

After a nice relaxing weekend, it was back to the daily grind this morning. I was back at the nursery & Mom was back at her office.

When Dad left on Friday, Mom was a bit worried about how she would cope without him for a whole week -- but I've taken good care of her so far, haven't I Dad?
